In short, there are three main things that determine if multiple procedures are possible. These three things also determine the type of facelift surgery to be performed.
Three things to consider:
- The general health of the patient.
- The ability to take time off of work or play.

For the most part if a patient is healthy, then multiple procedures are typically not a problem. Healthy patients are excellent candidates for routine facelift surgery. - Understanding Botox Injections- Botox refers to a purified form of Botulinum toxin that was first approved by the FDA in 1989 to treat certain medical conditions including blepharospasm and excessive sweating. Botox was later approved by the FDA in 2002 for cosmetic use. By temporarily blocking the nerve signals that release acetylcholine—a chemical that causes muscle contraction—Botox injections effectively work to reduce or eliminate the appearance of frown lines, crow's feet near the eyes, forehead creases, and thick bands along the neck area.
- Procedure Steps- Botox injections are performed as outpatient procedures in the office using an ultra-fine needle. The number of injections will vary based on each patients needs and the degree of wrinkling. After your surgeon identifies the proper points of injection, he will determine the necessary dosage. Some patients may benefit from the use of a topical numbing cream prior to the injection; however, many patients do not require topical anesthetic. In most cases, patients who receive Botox injections can return to their daily activities immediately following the procedure.
- Results- Most patients find that the effects of Botox injections are visible 24 to 72 hours following the procedure. These results last approximately three months. Some studies suggest that repeated treatments may help to permanently weaken the facial muscles to prevent the development of new wrinkles.
- The Procedure- Developed in 1999 by Dr. John E. Griffin, Jr., the NuAge face lift procedure is a minimal-incision approach to the traditional S-lift procedure, or short-flap face lift. This procedure is designed to provide facial rejuvenation for the lower face and neck. The facial cosmetic procedure uses smaller incisions, and suspension sutures to reposition loose soft tissue and sagging facial muscles.
- Ideal Candidates- As with any medical procedure, ideal candidates for the NuAge face lift should be in good general health with realistic expectations regarding the results. Typically the average client for the NuAge face lift is usually 40 years of age or older. Patients suffering from mild to moderate skin laxity in their neck and lower face may be candidates for the procedure. The NuAge face lift is not designed for patients with an extreme amount of tissue laxity or excessive fatty deposits within their facial tissues. .
- Benefits- The NuAge face lift provides a number of benefits over traditional face lift procedures. In addition to its minimally invasive design, the NuAge facelift method offers patients a shorter recovery time, less chance of post-operative complications, and maximum aesthetic benefits. In addition, the procedure can be completed under intravenous sedation in an outpatient surgical center.
